SECOND INVERSION CONTINUED
Ordinarily the Tonic Chord in any Scale is used most in the Second Inversion. In such cases it is best to follow the Second Inversion of the Tonic Chord by the Dominant Chord with its Root in the Bass. For instance : If the Chord C-E-G be used in the Second Inversion, having its Fifth (G) in the Bass, it will be followed by G-B-D, (the Dominant Chord in the Scale of C) with its Root (G) in the Bass, thus :

Make an Ear-training test of the above. It is one of the most, common Successions of Chords, and one should be able to recognize it readily whenever heard
Now let the student write out the above example in each of the Scales indicated, in the spaces given below.
